How to compare cabinets
Full vs. partial overlay
Full-overlay doors sit on top of the cabinet and completely cover the frame. Partial-overlay doors leave part of the frame showing. The styles in this catalog are full overlay.
Parts of a door
The center panel is framed by vertical stiles and horizontal rails. Shaker doors have a flat recessed panel; decorative recessed doors add bevel details; raised-panel doors add more dimension.
Framed cabinet boxes
A face frame on the front of the box gives the door and hinges a solid mounting surface.
Soft-close hinges and glides
Doors and drawers close gently instead of slamming. Many styles also have dovetail drawers on undermount, full-extension glides – check each style's specs above.
Shelf depth
Wall cabinets have full-depth shelves; base-cabinet shelves are half or 3/4 depth depending on the style.
